Much of his adult life has been devoted to working on Xanadu and advocating it. Nelson expands on his idea of "hyper-media," again inventing ideas that we now take for granted.
He is partly of Norwegian descent. Nelson writes passionately about the need for people to understand computers deeply, more deeply than was generally promoted as computer literacywhich he considers a superficial kind of familiarity with particular hardware and software. Mostly skimmed, quite dated.
